Technical Project Support

We have an immediate opening available for an experienced, full-time Technical Project Support person. This person may have their Drafting degree or their Architectural degree. They will join our team to work with us on many exciting projects in our pipeline, including hotel work, ground-up design, tenant improvements, interior design, and more.

The salary for this position starts at $50,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.

Varitone is an established architecture firm with an office in Historic Downtown Albany. Restaurants, coffee shops, walking, and more are just a few steps away. Benefits offered include full Health/Dental/Vision coverage after 60 days of employment, eligibility to start a 401(k)-retirement account after six (6) months of employment, monthly gym membership reimbursement, free parking, and approved flexible scheduling. There is potential for a hybrid remote schedule after six (6) months of employment for a very experienced candidate.

Skills/Attributes/Education

· Must be proficient in Revit

· Proficiency in Bluebeam is a plus, but not required

· Minimum 3 years in an architectural drafting position (with Revit), commercial work is a plus

· Associate degree in drafting or bachelor’s degree in architecture

· Great verbal and written communication skills

· Collaborative with and supportive of the rest of the team

· Ability to work independently or as a team

· Take appropriate initiative and keep busy without supervision

· Solutions oriented

· Ability to meet deadlines and work within schedule parameters given

Tasks for this Position (this is a non-exhaustive list of basic duties and responsibilities)

· Maintain relevant checklists

· Create Revit base models of as-built conditions

· Set up base CD set

· Pick up redlines

· Incorporate basic building code knowledge

· Design with appropriate considerations for ADA code, structural systems, MEP systems, and more

· Find and correct basic code errors in floor plans

· See the project’s big picture and find all necessary details to support it

· Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors as needed

· Assist architect in CA phase as needed

Intermediate to Advanced Level Architect

The successful candidate has experience providing technical architectural support and QAQC to Project Teams, brings aspirations to grow with the company, and to positively impact the communities in which we work.

The Intermediate to Advanced Architect (5+ years of experience) responsibilities include managing and overseeing the architectural design and detailing of a variety of commercial projects, providing quality control and redlines, coordinating with and mentoring junior team members, and managing projects through construction administration phases. Understanding of project management skills such as project schedule, workflow, deadlines, deliverables, and effective client communication will also lead to success in the role. Experience in multi-story hospitality and multi-family projects is desirable.

This is a full-time, in person, position with a base salary commensurate with experience. A full benefits package, along with the firm’s vacation practices are available. A hybrid working arrangement may be an option, for the right candidate, after 6 months of in-office work experience.

Qualifications for this position include:

● An accredited professional architecture degree (B.Arch. or M.Arch)

● English language proficiency

● Five or more years of professional architecture firm experience specific to architectural detailing and construction document development.

● Experience working in Revit.
