Autzen House Remodel - Oregon State

Autzen House is a Tudor style building that is home to Oregon State University's Center for the Humanities. The Center is used to host lectures, art displays, and meetings, and includes office space for professors and graduate students. Varitone Architecture was hired to renovate the building in order to improve accessibility, energy performance, functionality, and curb appeal. The design includes a new, welcoming ramp with integrated steps and planters, an expanded patio, and plentiful bike parking for commuters. Restrooms and a catering kitchen are updated. Meeting rooms are designed to feel more open and spaces are reconfigured to provide for more office space. Interior finishes and lighting are refreshed to be more modern, while complimenting the existing historic features of the building.
